What innovative natural gas distribution approaches are you exploring to better meet the changing business requirements?

The most crucial forthcoming advancement is the potential for distributing green hydrogen. The urgent need to decrease carbon emissions is the primary driver behind the expansion of renewable energy sources. In addition, Brazil possesses favorable conditions for generating electricity without relying on oil, nuclear energy, or any carbon-based sources, owing to ample wind and solar power resources. In Brazil, distributing green hydrogen presents a genuine alternative as a renewable energy source.

What are some of the obstacles your business faces that current services are unable to address?

The distribution of natural gas is contingent upon the infrastructure of installations. Our primary challenge lies in ensuring universal access to our product. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that establishing a gas pipeline network necessitates environmental licenses, comprehensive projects, and collaboration with construction firms. As a publicly-owned entity, we are obligated to competitively bid for various services to effectively develop our distribution infrastructure.

What advice or cautions would you offer to professionals in roles akin to yours within the Oil & Gas industry?

One crucial aspect to prioritize is environmental consciousness. Energy sources that aren’t renewable or contribute to pollution will face obsolescence. In addition, it’s imperative not to rely solely on one alternative. Diversification is key.

What emerging technology in the Oil & Gas Industry are you most enthusiastic about, and what motivates this excitement?

The most encouraging development in the oil and gas industry is the potential for reducing reliance solely on fossil fuels. Until we transition entirely to clean energy, several projects to reduce carbon emissions can be implemented across various sectors, such as transportation, industry, fertilizer production, and residential consumption. This diverse range of possibilities is what motivates us.
