Too Much Green Energy, But Too Little Planning

Green electrons are all around the world. Perhaps we are reaching the collapse of the sector.

We agree that green energies offer benefits beyond all related environmental ones. With the sector’s maturity, we have the most competitive prices, which even more justifies the need for this kind of power generation.

But maybe we have to stop a little, look behind and realise that we may not have considered other key factors.

Nowadays, we are watching the collapse of a model that grew too fast and legislation is more necessary than ever. We must seize the opportunity to create a sustainable consumption system based on green, cheap, reliable energy

We are heading towards a collapse; that’s the fact. It sounds good when you hear about prices tending to zero, but honestly, we are talking about businesses and none is willing to go bankrupt.

We might have to plan how to manage consumption simultaneously and the infrastructure needed for the creation of a sustainable system between generation and consumption.

Sometimes, the situation is as absurd as wanting to connect an appliance and not having anywhere to plug it in.

The opportunity for the B2B

Just as access points were released for generation, enabling points for consumption is crucial. We are involved in a new technological revolution based on new products such as data centres and the creation of synthetic fuels based on green hydrogen and biogenic carbon dioxide, among other products.

In addition, combining green energy with sustainable consumption will be essential if we want to comply with the climate neutrality commitments.

Besides, good infrastructure for electricity transportation (at the moment, several systems are close to collapse) and sound and reliable legislation about managing the storage systems will be mandatory.

Maybe, now, we must think about how to close the circle, knowing how to use the green electrons and what we will need for their transportation and consumption before starting a new project. Due to the current prices, perhaps we will make them unviable.
