This is where Emerging Power steps in. Utilizing its extensive experience in the design, manufacturing, and testing of commercial and military applications, the company offers robust battery solutions.
It manufactures and tests custom, standard, high-caliber batteries and battery accessories for OEMs and CMs worldwide. Its wide range of services includes non-rechargeable batteries for RFID, electricity, water, and gas meters. Each of these battery solutions is aimed to enable client products or applications to work at an optimal level. Emerging Power is both AS 9100 and ITAR certified. The ITAR certification is crucial to deal with military applications.
The company’s battery production process goes from a prototype stage to a full-blown production stage. Prior to the actual manufacturing process, the engineering team develops schematic diagrams, 3D models, and designs, followed by lifetime calculations of the product life cycle. Emerging Power also develops smart battery management systems (BMS) for specific client applications.
Once a product model is demonstrated to clients and finalized, the team focuses on purchasing the required resources. However, to make sure their price and logistics requirements are met, it converses with the client about the selected material list.
Different commercial and military applications require various battery pack layouts of the components. Emerging Power understands these varying requirements and accordingly conducts sample building, design validation, and tool design.
Component qualification and sourcing are complementary to its deliverables. Emerging Power also helps lay out Gerber files and UN transportation testing using its in-house test capabilities.
Our rejection rate is practically zero. This reflects our commitment to quality and ability to provide customized solutions to our customers
“Our rejection rate is practically zero. This reflects our commitment to quality and ability to provide customized solutions to our customers,” says Thomas Corbett, president, Emerging Power.
These capabilities of Emerging Power can be evidenced by one of its success stories. In one instance, one of its clients wanted a battery to track their cattle in the field. However, the customer lacked specific knowledge about the type of battery to use and how to attach it to a cow. Emerging Power took on this task. Before moving to battery production, the team conducted battery and manufacturing tests along with production validation. In addition, to ensure the device is safe to use, it tested the battery’s ability to function within various temperature ranges.
“Our ability to deliver flawlessly customized products per specific and complex client requirements makes us battery-agnostic,” says Corbett.
