As more countries increase their investment in renewable energy. Solar farms can provide a cost-effective and scalable source of clean energy, helping to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and improve energy security.
FREMONT, CA: With the growing demand for clean and renewable energy sources, the solar energy industry is expected to experience significant growth and innovation in 2023.
A Success for Solar
It has been predicted before, but now that the EU is doing everything in its power to quickly achieve energy independence and a future devoid of fossil fuels, the stakes have significantly increased. The Recovery and Resilience Fund has a sizable budget of €300 billion ($320 billion), and the REPowerEU program's goal is to have 45 per cent of the EU's energy come from renewable sources by 2030. Perhaps more importantly, these significantly higher ambitions are shared by nations, regions, municipalities, corporations, and private households throughout Europe and the rest of the world. One such example is Swedish municipalities whose demand for solar cells in all of their public buildings is increasing.
Implementing Life Cycle Climate Footprint
Consumers are interested in a renewable energy solution's entire life cycle climate footprint. Carbon dioxide emissions per kilowatt-hour produced will become an increasingly important metric. The private sector, in particular, which is eager to become carbon neutral for branding purposes, will consider this a key determining factor while determining green initiatives. As a result, players in the renewable energy industry must consider all aspects of their operations, from raw material sourcing to recycling at the end of their products' lives. Consumers are now wise enough to determine how green sustainable solutions truly are and brave enough to open their wallets only to such solutions.
Independence in Energy
Conflicts between countries have drawn attention to the need for continents, unions, and countries to become energy independent in order to avoid becoming possible targets of politically motivated energy blackmail and uncontrollable supply and pricing. In light of extraordinarily high electricity rates and the threat of rolling blackouts, the necessity for energy independence is increasingly apparent for smaller entities as well, such as businesses and individual homes.
Producing one's own energy allows one to become energy independent. Solar is the only choice for the majority of smaller organisations. It is also an incredible option because it is easily accessible, reliable, and has ever-shorter payback times. There are also possibilities for wind and nuclear power for countries and continents. These might take longer to implement and be less popular politically and with the general public. Therefore, solar is the most satisfactory option.
Being less reliant on foreign materials, equipment, and power plants even if they fall under the category of renewable energy sources is another aspect of achieving energy independence.
