The increased inflation scenario in European space has triggered the need to implement integrated approaches in extracting power, where solar energy stands at the forefront.
FREMONT, CA: Europe is planning to expand its solar power source, promoting conventional and green energy in the future. However, challenges like regulations preserving the green space on the densely populated continent may affect the intensity of solar power growth, underlying the need to deploy critical sources to implement solar power. Similarly, in-built restrictions like narrowing the arena with the capability to build solar farms, delaying and reducing the spread and usage of solar farms, rising demands to clear layers of bureaucracy, and avoiding ancient ruins for building solar farms in rural areas have furthermore elevated the hindrances to utilising solar energy.
Generally, the European Union (EU) relies on solar power to hit its renewable energy targets, which may often be disrupted by political conflicts between nations. With an initial aim to extract almost 45 per cent of the bloc’s energy supplies from renewable sources in the future, the EU aims at tripling its solar-power capacity. Thus, solar power will likely emerge as the biggest and most robust source of electricity in the Europe region, especially with the optimistic approach of officials in the arena. Moreover, solar panels are less obtrusive than towering wind turbines, especially owing to theories supposing less or no opposition from the public.
One critical initiative of the approach is laying solar panels on the roofs of every house and office building, which is highly cost-effective. However, installing the plan requires distinct measures and consideration as the number of needed solar parks on the ground is increasing with a deduction in roof-top solar panels. Furthermore, the EU's renowned legislation critically aims at accelerating approval for all modes of renewable energy projects, particularly in addressing setbacks caused by the continent's political conflicts.
Presidents of nations in the European region are proposing legislation to achieve a net-zero loss of green space in the upcoming decades, thereby, imposing new requirements on local authorities. It aims at limiting developments in certain fertile lands, with a mere exemption for solar farms. However, the very proposition follows, ensuring developers with a declaration stating: "The project would minimally damage the fertility of the nation while preventing it from agricultural purposes.
Meanwhile, several other nations withhold an increased number of public opposition to cultivating solar farms in desired spaces, due to which, varied lands lay underdeveloped. Government officials in various nations are protesting the decision to allow the building of solar farms or their renewal in the arena, which are often considered to be cultural sites, rolling countryside, and agricultural products. Wherein, building solar farms contributes enormous power to the region, emerging as a dominant energy source on the continent.
