Dextra’s portfolio gained popularity and built the company’s reputation as a reliable partner capable of taking on the most challenging transportation in the oil and gas, petrochemical and Energy industries. In parallel, an extensive client portfolio, including clients with dangerous cargo and military equipment, helped broaden its range of services.
Today, Dextra’s one-stop service with door-to-door delivery eliminates the risks and hassle of managing multiple modes of transportation from origin to destination. Further, Dextra Transport owns self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT), allowing seamless operations from fabrication yards to loaded out on vessels, and verse versa for load-in.
Be it on land or offshore, our one-stop service enables us to provide engineered solutions to reliably transport cargo from Module Fabrication Yards to the final destinations
Every client engagement starts with a pre-engineering phase, during which Dextra offers feasibility studies that provide options to clients on how to transport their cargo to the final destination. Once clients send an official RFQ, Dextra offers the best-suited solutions in terms of safety, time and cost efficiency. The offered services include all related engineering studies such as weighing, land transport, sea transport studies, load-in and the last miles up to the foundation at the job site.
Dextra Transport also offers engineering solutions for lifting, such as tailing operations to lift the cargo from horizontal to vertical for installation on the foundation at the destination. During the tailing operation, engineering checks are performed to confirm the structural strength of cargo and lifting equipment. Beyond lifting engineering, Dextra can design, fabricate, and supply specific lifting gears (spreader bars, lifting beams, hydraulic hoisting systems, etc.) that lift equipment safely and accurately.
Concurrently, another activity that Dextra proposes is industrial relocation and machinery installation, such as gas turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, Diesel engines, Hydraulic presses, boilers, and transformers. Since these machines are not easy to handle and install with a crane in confined spaces or low-roof sites, Dextra develops alternative solutions to install them onto the foundation.
The in-house engineering team also prepares schedules and supervises operations to ensure that drawings and method statements are properly implemented at the site. This direct communication enables seamless and quick responses that drive safe, timely and efficient project execution. Dextra’s internal engineering know-how eliminates the need for external providers, saving significant costs and minimizing delays. Above all, the Dextra team always adjusts processes and considers improvements based on lessons learnt to enhance future projects.
Recently, thanks to Dextra workforce competencies, a Clean Fuel Project was completed successfully and on time with zero misses and incidents. Their client needed to find a reliable and safe solution for transporting 72 modules ranging from 50 to 4,200 tons from three different Thailand-based module fabrication yards to the jetty overseas within a ten-month schedule. Dextra proposed and used a single dedicated vessel for consecutive shipments between the yards to optimize sea fastening re-use and compatibility across 19 shipments. In Addition to significant savings for the client, reusing two sets of sea fastening from the sender and receiver shipments enabled the release of the modules quickly from the vessel without rearranging grillage.
On a mission to diversify its services, Dextra will continue employing its unconventional approach of going beyond common solutions combined with past experiences and in-depth market knowledge to create the ultimate solution for safe and timely deliveries.
